Our Commitment

Mattie Jane's is committed to making our website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that every guest — whether visiting us in person or online — deserves a full and equal experience.

Accessibility Standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines describe how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, or neurological disabilities.

What We've Done

We've taken a number of steps to make the site usable for everyone:

• Descriptive alt text on all images, including menu boards, food photos, and our logo, so screen readers can describe them
• Semantic HTML structure throughout — proper headings, navigation landmarks, and page regions — so assistive technology can understand the page
• Accessible labels on interactive elements, including the mobile menu button and social media links
• Visible keyboard focus indicators, so people navigating by keyboard can see where they are on the page
• ARIA roles on our menu tabs so screen readers announce them correctly
• A language declaration on every page so screen readers use the correct pronunciation

What We're Still Working On

We're continuing to audit and improve. Known areas we're working on:

• Reviewing color contrast in a few remaining areas to meet WCAG AA
• Ongoing testing with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation
• Accessibility of third-party embeds we don't control (online ordering, Instagram, loyalty program)
